　　1、drown oneself 跳河自尽

　　Dragon boat festival has long been associated with a famous poet in history, who was so worried about his country that he drowned himself. 端午节是和一位忧国忧民的诗人有关系的，他当时跳河自尽了。

　　2、pay tribute to 向...表示敬意

　　During the festival, people all across China eat rice puddings to pay tribute to this poet. 在端午节，全国各个地方的人都会吃粽子来像屈原这位诗人表达敬意。

　　3、stuffing/filling 馅儿

　　The fillings used vary from region to region, but the rice used is always sticky. 粽子的馅料虽因地而异，但粽子都需糯米这一主料。

　　4、bean paste 豆沙

　　The rice pudding can be stuffed with bean paste or chopped meat. 粽子里面可以是豆沙馅儿的， 肉馅的。

　　5、rice dumpling 粽子

　　After knowing the incident, the villagers gathered in dragon boats and threw rice dumplingsto avoid fishes to eat up his body. 在知道此事后，村民聚集，用龙舟载运用米制成的粽子，抛入河中，以免河中鱼类吃掉屈原的躯体。

　　Zongzi, a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves, will have pride of place on our dining tables in the days to come. 粽子是由竹叶或芦苇叶包裹糯米而成，呈金字塔形，在未来的几天里它将在我们的餐桌上享有“尊贵”的一席。
